Women's wool mittens

Hands lose heat quickly. Fingers have little tissue and a large surface area, and are often the first body part to become cold. A good pair of wool mittens solves this more effectively than most alternatives; wool regulates moisture and temperature without becoming clammy.

Lanullva’s women’s wool mittens are knitted in soft merino wool using our airy method. The knit provides 30 percent more air pockets than regular wool, and these air pockets allow the mittens to warm in cold temperatures and release moisture when the hands begin to sweat. Many synthetic mittens have the opposite problem: they are warm for ten minutes, then clammy.

We make styles in different thicknesses, from thin everyday mittens to sturdy hiking mittens. The cuff sits comfortably around the wrist without squeezing, and the thumb has enough room for natural movement. Many customers use the same mittens in the city, at the cabin and in the mountains; the material is flexible enough to work across a wide temperature range.

The mitten sits against the skin of the hand, which is where wool regulates both moisture and warmth best. The wool is RWS-certified by Textile Exchange (responsible animal welfare and full traceability), Öko-Tex Standard 100-certified, and produced in European factories with proper working conditions. Wash sparingly on a wool programme, dry flat, and a good wool mitten will last for many seasons.
