A wool jacket for children is one of the most practical garments for changing Norwegian weather. It is used when it is too cold for a knitted sweater alone, but not cold enough for a winter suit. These are the most child-friendly weather conditions of the whole year, September to November, March to May, and a good wool jacket covers them all.

Lanullva's wool jackets for children are knitted in merino wool using our airy method, the one that provides 30 percent more air pockets than regular wool knitwear. The garment keeps the child warm, but does not make them clammy if their activity level increases. It is easy to take off and put on, easy to pack in a backpack when the sun suddenly comes out, and light enough for the child to carry themselves for a whole day in the mountains.

We knit the jackets with a front zip for easy dressing and undressing, and with a good body length so they cover the stomach area even when the child raises their arms. Many parents appreciate that the garment can be used as a warming layer under a rain jacket when the weather changes, and the combination of wool closest to the skin and a shell outer layer is what works best for Norwegian children outdoors all year round.

Wool withstands precipitation better than people think and smells less than synthetic alternatives. The wool is RWS-certified by Textile Exchange, Öko-Tex Standard 100-certified (no harmful chemicals against the skin), and produced in European factories with proper working conditions. Air between uses, wash sparingly on the wool programme, and the jacket often lasts through several siblings.
