Babies cannot regulate their body temperature as efficiently as adults. They lose heat quickly, especially through their heads, which make up a large part of their bodies. A good hat is one of the most important things we can put on them from their first days outside the hospital.

Lanullva's hats for babies are knitted in superfine merino wool using our airy method. The finest merino wool is surprisingly soft against the skin, softer than people expect from a natural material, and is safe for sensitive baby skin over time as well. The garments are Öko-Tex Standard 100-certified, so there are no chemical residues leaking onto the baby's skin.

We make the hats in shapes that cover both the head and ears well, with a softly fitting band that does not chafe around the forehead. The cuts are simple enough to fit during the first weeks and months, and the colours are chosen to last through several children.

The wool is RWS-certified by Textile Exchange, and produced in European factories with proper working conditions. Wool smells less than synthetic fibre and can often simply be aired between uses, convenient when you have a baby who often falls asleep wearing a hat. Wash sparingly on a wool cycle, lay flat.
