The wool sweater is the classic workhorse in a men's wardrobe. You put it on over a base layer or a t-shirt, and it keeps you warm from when you leave the house until you return home. For many, it is also the only garment truly needed on cooler days; add a light wind jacket when necessary.
Lanullva's wool sweaters for men are knitted using the method Brit Vinje Lyngstad developed for her Eilif in the 1990s, an airy knit that provides 30 percent more air pockets than regular wool. These air pockets keep your body temperature even whether you are standing still at the hunting stand or walking quickly up a steep forest slope. You stay warm when you need warmth, without becoming clammy from activity.
We make both thinner styles that work as light garments in summer and thicker versions for cold winter weather. The neck knit is often reinforced because this is where the sweater wears most, and the length of the body and sleeves is designed to stay in place even after many washes.
The sweater works best directly against the skin, where the wool has its full effect and wicks sweat away before it becomes clammy moisture. The wool is RWS-certified by Textile Exchange (responsible animal welfare and full traceability), Öko-Tex Standard 100-certified, and produced in European factories with proper working conditions. You can wear the same wool sweater several days in a row without it becoming a problem; odour does not develop as it does in synthetic fibre. On fishing trips or cabin trips, this means fewer garments in your backpack. At home: wool programme when needed, lay flat to dry.
