Hustadvika is Lanullva's answer to the days when it really gets cold. When Havbris is a little too light, when regular wool underwear is not enough, when you will be outdoors for several hours in biting temperatures, that is when Hustadvika takes over. The collection is named after one of the country's most weather-exposed stretches of coast, and that is no coincidence.

The garments are knitted in a thicker merino wool using our airy method, the one that provides 30 percent more air pockets than regular wool knitwear. The additional knit thickness means more warmth; the airy structure means that the warmth feels even and without clamminess. You can stand still at a hunting stand for two hours and still stay warm across your back; you can walk quickly up a steep forest slope and still release excess moisture.

Hustadvika is typically used when the temperature is below minus five, or when you will be outdoors for several hours in damp, cool weather. It works on its own as a thicker wool garment under a rain jacket, or as a warming layer under what you would otherwise wear on a cold day. For those who spend a lot of time outdoors in winter, hunting, fishing, long hikes, cold workdays, Hustadvika is often the first thing you reach for in the morning.

Hustadvika garments work best against the skin or as a warming layer directly over a thin wool base layer, where the thicker knit has its full effect. The wool is RWS-certified by Textile Exchange (responsible animal welfare and full traceability), Öko-Tex Standard 100-certified, and produced in European factories with proper working conditions. Wash sparingly on the wool programme, lay flat to dry, and the garments last for many winters.
