In a way, a cardigan is the most practical garment in everyday Norwegian life, because you take it off when you get warm and put it back on when you get chilly. Norwegian days are rarely static: the office is too warm, the car park is too cold, and the terrace in the evening requires an extra layer. A cardigan solves this without you having to change completely.

Lanullva's wool cardigans for women are knitted in merino wool using our airy method, which provides 30 percent more air pockets than regular wool knitwear. The garment breathes while keeping you warm, so you can wear it over a T-shirt all day without feeling clammy. When evening comes and the temperature drops, the cardigan continues to keep you warm without needing to change into something thicker.

On evenings at the cabin, hiking in mild temperatures, along the shoreline on a summer evening, or as an extra layer under a coat in winter, the cardigan works in surprisingly many places. We choose cuts and lengths that are easy to combine with dresses, trousers and jeans alike, and that do not look overly formal.

The cardigan works best against the skin; the wool delivers the most when it lies directly against the body. The wool is RWS-certified by Textile Exchange (responsible animal welfare and full traceability), OEKO-TEX Standard 100-certified, and produced in European factories with proper working conditions. Wash gently on a wool cycle, dry flat, and the cardigan will improve with age rather than lose its shape.
